bedding care

We tailor duvet and pillow cleaning to the filling.

For down, feather, wool, camel wool, hollowfibre and bamboo-filled items, we choose a method based on the label and condition. Cotton sheets and covers need a different wash programme from filled duvets.

The work we do.

  • We inspect the label, filling, outer fabric and seams.
  • We assess stains and treat them locally as the fabric allows.
  • We use separate programmes for filled bedding and bed linen.
  • We check dryness, filling distribution and pillow shape before packing.
Folded linen cloth and an olive throw on a wooden table, a curtain of the same fabric behind and an iron on the right.

We accept these items.

  • Down and feather duvets and pillows.
  • Wool and camel wool duvets.
  • Hollowfibre and bamboo-filled duvets and pillows.
  • Blankets and lightweight throws.
  • Bedspreads.
  • Cotton sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases.

We check the item.

Our courier collects your item. We check the material, stains and damage at our workshop. We choose a suitable method and explain the chances of stain removal and any risks. We confirm the final price after inspection.

We quote separately for restoration.

  • Down and wool can clump during a strong spin; we select extraction settings according to the label and filling.
  • We account for camel wool’s sensitivity to water and agitation when choosing its cleaning method.
  • A hollowfibre or bamboo label alone does not determine the programme; we check the blend and care instructions.
  • A temperature suitable for cotton sheets and covers may be unsuitable for duvet filling.
  • Moisture left inside can lead to odour and mould; we do not judge dryness by the surface alone.
  • An undersized drum can leave filling bunched on one side; avoid forcing a duvet into a home washing machine.
  • We inspect pillow seams and filling; we cannot promise to restore the original shape of worn filling.
  • Tell us at intake about any concerns involving allergies or dust mites; we use high temperatures only where the label permits and do not promise complete allergen removal.
  • See Book courier for collection details and Track order for your order’s progress.

How we do it.

  1. We inspect the filling and seams.

We check the composition on the label, outer fabric and seams. We note clumped filling, stains and signs of previous washing, then explain the suitable method and likely outcome at intake.

  2. We select a programme for the filling.

Where washing is suitable, we adjust temperature, agitation and extraction to the filling. We avoid strong spin cycles for wool and down and wash cotton sheets and covers on a separate programme.

  3. We check thorough drying and shape.

We choose a drying method suited to the filling and check for moisture inside. We assess filling distribution and pillow shape, then pack after a final inspection.

We answer your questions.

Can a wool duvet be washed?

Not every wool duvet is washable. We check the composition, including camel wool, along with the label and seams, and explain suitability at intake. A strong spin can clump the filling, so we choose the method after inspection.

How long does duvet and pillow cleaning take?

Turnaround depends on the order size, filling and time needed to dry fully. We confirm timing at intake; a dry surface does not mean the filling is dry inside.

Does this service include mattresses?

This service covers duvets, pillows, blankets, bedspreads and bed linen. We cannot confirm mattress acceptance in advance; send its type, filling, dimensions and a photo so we can assess it separately.

Can a down pillow clump after washing?

Unsuitable spinning, a cramped drum and incomplete drying can cause clumping. We inspect the filling and seams first and adjust the programme. We assess how much existing clumping can be eased after inspection.

Do you use a hot wash for dust mite allergy concerns?

We use high temperatures only when the fabric, filling and care label allow it. A programme suitable for a cotton cover may not suit a wool or down duvet. We do not promise allergy relief or complete dust mite elimination; we explain the available programme at intake.

Do you wash a duvet cover the same way as the duvet?

No, we separate removable covers. We choose a fabric-appropriate wash for cotton sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases, and a filling-appropriate cleaning and drying method for the duvets and pillows themselves.

How much does duvet cleaning cost, and will stains come out?

The price list is at Pricing. We confirm the final amount at intake after checking the size, filling and work needed. We also assess the chances of stain removal after inspection; we do not promise to remove every stain.
