Explore the equipment and products we use for dry and wet cleaning, pressing and leather restoration. We explain what we choose and why.
We choose equipment to suit each item.
We choose dry or wet cleaning based on the label, material and test results. For wet cleaning, we also plan drying and reshaping. We assess leather restoration and textile dyeing separately. Fabric, sewing thread and lining may take on different shades during dyeing.
Dry cleaning machines

We use solvent instead of water in the closed-loop SYSTEMK4 process. We recover the solvent through filtration and distillation.
Professional wet cleaning equipment

Leather care and restoration

Choosing solvents
We match the solvent to the material.
We use Kreussler SOLVONK4 solvent in Realstar equipment. For garments sensitive to water-based cleaning, we check suitability first.
- We dry clean with SOLVONK4. Realstar’s product information describes this solvent as halogen-free and organic.
- We use SOLVONK4 in compatible SYSTEMK4 equipment. We do not use it in machines designed for perchloroethylene.
- After each cycle, we recover the solvent through filtration and distillation. These stages remove dirt and prepare the solvent for reuse.
- We also choose wet cleaning where the label and tests allow. We dose products with the Brightwell system, rather than measuring by eye.
